22 MAY 2011: GWERIN OWAIN SUPPORTS POBL POWYS CAMPAIGN AGAINST PYLONS AS A POPULAR STRUGGLE AGAINST COLONIALISM.

Sian Ifans of Gwerin Owain with Gethin and Owain Gruffydd of Cymdeithas Lewsyn yr Heliwr greeting those engaged in the walk from Powys outside Merthyr Tudful to show solidarity and walk with they a few miles to the Cefn Coed turn off to Merthyr.


 Walkimg with Llywelyn  III Flag (distressed), Glyndwr Flag, 1831 Red Flag , Red Pitch Fork Flag and Baner 'Trech Gwlad Nag Arglwydd' representing popular revolt, such Gwerin Owain would entirely be one with past, present and in future popular revolts over Tyrrany. Oppression and Exploitation..


Looking up the road in Brecon direction from the Cefn Coed turn off the, high to the right is the escarpment from which the 1831 Insurrectionists fired and rolled rocks down on the Soldiers sent from Brecon to suppress the Workers Revolt of the first week of June 1831. It would be these Scottish Soldiers who would massacre 26 People outside the Castle Inn on 3 June 1831.
